Default 60's & 70's old timer bikers, how's your memory?

I have question for you old timers out there. My buddy and I were discussing a photo that was taken in SC of a young girl riding on the back of a sport bike that had no passenger pegs. He joked and said must be "Carolina Style" of riding. And that reminded me of back in the day when I was a kid seeing girls ride on some of those old choppers with no passenger pegs. They would find some spot on the bike to prop their feet on or wrap their legs around the rider. For some reason I think I they called that San Francisco style. Any of you guys remember what it was called, if in fact it was called anything at all?

Wouldn't dare? They don't make a fender that would hold some of the chicks I see on the back of Harleys these days.

Only thing i ever heard it being called was "ridin' the fender." Definitely not something most of the divas out there these days would do.

Forty years ago this particular style of passenger accommodation netted me a hot redhead and three offspring from what was otherwise a pleasant ride to San Antonio on my solo shovelhead chop. Striking resemblance to the female in the second pic above.

That was a story unto itself.

ETA: Have you ever tried riding sitting backwards?

I can't say what style that was or is...but I remember my first bike was a Honda S-90 when I was 16.....didn't matter what kind of bike/rider/group you seen on the street, you always gave each other a raised left fist. I was told that there were so few of us on the road, we didn't care who or what you rode, we were a brotherhood. Not like today where we are "restricted" by brands or cultures!!!
But I remember seeing girls on the backs of some bikes with their legs around the rider!!

Got a redhead ( 50th Anniversary coming up in December ) and she gave me, or I gave her a couple of offspring too She still hops on, make that steps on gingerly too ... I tried riding a scooter ( dirt bike ) backwards a few times though never as a passenger and was down more than I was up ... A long time buddy can still to this day ( he'll be 71 on the 7th of July ) can still hop on a small dirt bike and ride it backwards and even shift some gears

We used to call it dangerous ! But did it anyway. Even had people sit backwards while riding. Most started screaming pretty quickly. Nothing like wheelies while sitting backwards. Even did it myself.

Never did have good judgement.

My old lady used to sit like that on my bike, we just called it "hang on".

This was taken at Perry Lake kansas, huge yearly party. Did my share of acting a fool there with willing and mostly unclothed women. Good times.

Lake Perry, Perry Lake, I was there a time or two. Just can't remember very many details.
