Default PA roads

I have been wanting to ride up into PA to the flight 93 crash site National Memorial and the area, maybe into Pittsburgh 3 rivers area also. Heard the river boat blues cruises are great.
Anyone have any experience riding into Pittsburgh on a bike as a first time visitor? Can you give me some pointers, what to watch out for and points of interest?

Thanks in advance!

Ride safe out there!

BE CAREFUL!! The potholes here will swallow your front wheel. The Flight 93 Memorial is amazing. The riding in that area is very good. As with any city, keep your head on a swivel.

Flight 93 Memorial, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater house & Kentuck ****, Johnstown Flood Museum & Flood Memorial, Horseshoe Curve National Landmark. Do these things & forget Pgh. You can ride the incline up to Mt. Washington in Pgh, but all you do is take a look at the view, and come back down. Pittsburgh could be a challenge for the 1st time --- if you don't cross the right bridge, it could be Thursday before you get to your destination. Go up the incline in Johnstown instead, and go have a nice lunch up there. Plus, you can put your bike onto the Johnstown incline, and ride it back down after lunch.

If you cross NC west and pick up I77 north to US19 north the big roads aren't that bad at all. Have done the same many times, to include downtown Pittsburgh. Best of luck!!!

Another vote for Falling Water. And Ohiopyle state park. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Donegal and had a meal at Out of the Fire Café across the street, and highly recommend both

Pittsburgh is a great town! The Parkway can be a pain, depending on time of day.

If you go down into the city, it is funny that, you can see a place you want to go, but you have to go the opposite direction to get there! Yea, GPS units do a good job overall here though. Better than people.

It is a beautiful view coming into the city through the tunnels. The history center is pretty cool. Andy Warhol museum is close by if your into that. Lots of breweries around if your interested in that.

Like others mentioned, traffic into the city can be harsh if you pick the wrong time.
Good luck and keep us in the loop for what you do.
