Is the sale local? If so, maybe just meet him at his bank with your title.

Use the utmost caution! Cashiers checks & money orders get forged all the time. Cash or meet him at his bank.

I would meet him just over the border in Oklahoma at the bank that issued the cashier's check and get another issued by that very same bank in my name. Give him the title and head for home. A lot of people with a little talent and a reasonably good printer can produce a cashier's check that can fool a bank teller. I have seen it done...

I know that is right. I know if I call the issuing bank and give them the info on the check they can verify if its a real check. But by that time he could be gone.

I paid for a bike with a cashiers cheque. The selller said that was fine. What blew him away was that I asked if he could drive me to the bank, that way the seller knew it was legit. Everything went without a hitch.
