Default Does anyone do the research?

I’m a big eBay’er. I have 15 bikes...mostly older. I’m always looking for some type of old part, manual, etc. So I just bought a 2001 DWG2 CVO. I wanted the original owners manual. I look on eBay and there are several...$80 and up. So i go on Surdyke’s website and i order a brand new owner’s manual for $31 including shipping. Who pays $80 for something they can get for $31?????

I have an original '39 ULH owner's manual. I also have an original tool kit wrench from a 40's Indian, with the script on the side of it.
What's it worth? I don't know.
Someday I'll find out.

I always check all online sources before I buy and most of the time it pays off too!

When I used to scan Ebay I would see that kind of thing all the time. I now see it on Amazon too. I guess they're paying for the convenience of sitting in their chair while they shop.

A person can price something as they want that doesn’t mean somebody’s going to buy it for that.

I used to fret over this subject myself and in the past have even contacted Sellers to let them know they are asking too much.
Then one day I simply came to the conclusion that if some chump doesn’t want to do the research to find the best deal then let them pay too much, what do I care.

People used to consider me lucky because I always seemed to fall into deals.
However I’ve rarely “fell into a deal” but I always keep my eyes open for a deal and rarely do I make a purchase without much research.

That's funny right there. I've priced stuff higher than hell before because I didn't give a crap if it ever sold or not. Guess what? Eventually some one bought the stuff.

20 years ago I used to know an old guy with a bunch of junk cars. He had a pretty rough, non - running, 2 door 64 Impala that I was a little interested in so I stopped and asked about it. He said he wanted $20K for it. I said that's a pretty steep for a real rough plain old Impala. He said he owned it and he'd ask whatever he damn well pleased for it, and if I didn't buy it the next guy might. He didn't care if it sold or not.
