If you go to Hocking Hills, be aware there is plenty of excess traffic in the region, and in particular on OH 664 near Old Man's Cave. The reason is a new visitor center which just opened. My wife and I were there yesterday and it was pretty much a zoo. Hocking Hills has loads of curvy roads and just a bit too much traffic to ever relax. Lots of gawking going on and plenty of drivers edging the center line. If you go do any hiking, 2 of the easier and prettier hikes are to Conkle's Hollow (stay on the lower path following the creek) and Ash Cave. Great photo ops and very easy hiking. Rt 56 is a nice ride coming and going from Athens to HH, but it's one of those 2 lane routes that people drive fast and pass in tight zones. There are fatalities on it every year, so ride with a bit of caution.

I hope you have a great trip.

By the end of my first “long” ride I was absolutely exhausted. My *** felt raw, my face hurt, lol had lots of body issues that day and can only think of what it would have been like to stop about every hour or so for a walk and stretch or even to split the day into two. I think I definitely need a better seat than stock or one of those air cushions that help prevent the notorious “swamp ***”. And boxers, most definitely need boxers. Jockeys just stick to your *** and get hot quick 😂

My Dad and I have pre-planned a road trip in September where I am going to rent a tri-glide and take him on one last ride to Tennessee. He’s got medical issues and no longer rides. We are planning everything from where to stop and when and what to put under our asses to help prevent fatigue.

Have a safe and fun trip and send pics. I’d like to ride up there sometime.

If your starting in Marrietta, go south along the river on the Ohio side (Rt 7, Rt 124 and Rt 833) to Point Pleasant then come back up the West Virginia side (Rt 62, Rt 2, Rt 68). We ride that area a couple times per year. Mostly straight road through some small river towns and farm land.

I always plan an hour for each 50 miles when on a road trip. After you add in fuel stops, food stops, bathroom breaks, traffic, construction zones, etc....it works out to about 50 miles traveled each hour. Some great riding around the Marietta area!

I looked at the university in Murrieta. It was a beautiful place. Stay safe and share some pictures

I'm curious what you think was the best part of this trip....or maybe the 'must do!' recommendation for others coming to visit.
