Default Did you buy your Harley New or Used? Why?

I bought Both my Harleys 2006 883 Sportster and my 2013 Fatboy used because Child Support/ Alimony were crushing me.

I figure if I'm going to pull it all apart anyway, no point in buying new.

2008 Heritage Softail Classic used because after a 40 year hiatus I wasn't sure if it was for me. I'm already thinking about my next one!
ETA: great thread topic!

I always look for garage queens. Found a 2015 UL with 2600 miles in 2018. Offered the guy $17K. He took it.

I bought my deluxe used with just 3800 miles on the clock. It was too good to pass up, I thought.

New.

Normally I rack up 32K miles a year and when I am anyplace in the USA/Canada I want to make sure there is less likely to be a breakdown. And so far it has been a perfect plan. Or near perfect.

Used means I could be (not necessarily) but could be purchasing someone elses problems. And when it is new, I know the entire bikes history and it is ONLY touched by 1 of 2 HD techs that I work with almost 2 decades now.

Pretty good question mate..........

New. Convenience. I didn't know chit about Harley's so I thought a warranty might be beneficial. Now I'm.busy voiding that warranty. Haha

I bought my 2015 Slim used because I had no idea if I'd like it enough to ride more than once a week. I discovered I like it enough to ride every day that it isn't raining.
