Think BEFORE you finance that new bike!
Good article about the financials of how financing a Harley Davidson motorcycle affects the whole industry and the rider who may want to sell or trade a bike in on something new...

Wow. That may be the finest and most accurate portrayal of a group of Harley riders I've ever seen.
NOT.

The second average Americans can think for themselves when it comes to Harley purchasing is the same second Harley gets its last nail in the coffin. Bikes are entirely emotional purchases. Logic always plays second fiddle to emotion when it comes to motorcycling purchases. The younger generations are just losing the emotional attachment to motorcycles, that's all.

Oh, also, what they're doing should be criminal. It's just like the 08 sub-prime mortgage crisis. TONS of people who have no business financing a $30K Harley for as many months as possible, what the hell do they expect? At least back then the mortgage backed securities had a history of people making their mortgage payments. Making a motorcycle payment, how important is that when it comes down to supporting a family?

So many great used bikes that are available for a fraction of the price...of new. I just bought a 1997 Road King that is showroom condition with 4000 miles for what would be equal to a down payment on a new bike...CRAZY! CHECK IT OUT.....
I’m not against anything new or people who want the latest technology and style. However, there are so many great bikes that have been well-cared for that are worth consideration. Don’t let the dealerships pressure or manipulate you into making a long-term financial commitment on a $30-45,000 motorcycle that is meant to be enjoyable for the rider...
