Hi, I'm heading to Covington, LA for a week's work and a good excuse for a road trip with the bike however I'm concerned as it appears all the hotels in the Covington area have only free self parking, no secure parking. Anyone aware of any Covington hotels with "safe" or secure parking or for a plan-b - what's the best alternatives for parking in a hotels general self parking areas?

Rent a very hungry, mean-a$& dog and keep him chained to the scoot overnight. Just kidding ; )

 

I would be willing to bet that your bike will be okay. Covington is a very nice community. My BIL and many of my friends live there.

I cant give a hotel recommendation because I never needed one, but there should be several close to I-12. I think off of exit 59 there is St. Tammany Hospital. If they have a hotel in walking distance maybe you can park your bike in their garage.

 

Park the bike under the hotel's front entrance canopy. I've never had a hotel refuse to allow a motorcycle to park there. They have cameras pointing on the front entrance 24/7. Lock your forks and ignition, remove everything from your bags. Make sure your insurance is current too.

 

I have left my bike at hotels in Covington with no issue, just always park in the front of the hotel
