Default Does anyone here actually go to the dealer for service?

I understand they gotta pay for those BBQs and bikini contests, but $540 for 1k service on a 2018 Road King? Come on now, that's completely absurd.

Does anyone here actually bring their bike to the HD dealer for service?

I do! I don't have the knowledge, time, or tools. I have a great relationship with my dealer. He's honest, does a good job, I have no complaints.

Default Dealer Service

I have an agreement with my dealer that I change the fluids and they do the inspections...It works out for both of us a the cost is greatly reduced and when it was in warranty it was up to snuff for HD. That is for my touring bike...My dyna is all done by me after being screwed by another dealer on a couple of occasions.

Always do my own service on any bike I owned.

I wouldn't let a dealership "Tech" put air in my tires.

I use to do all my own maintenance on my motorcycles over the years but for the past several years I have used the dealer here in Yuma "Bobby's Territorial Harley Davidson". Not cheap but darn good service. At 66 i just don't enjoy doing the work my self like I use to.

I used to do as much work on my bikes as I had time and tools for... Now, especially when my bike was under warranty, I have the dealer do most everything. I have been treated very well and they stand behind their work. If you are in south central Michigan and need some wrenching done on your bike, Battle Creek Harley has treated me well.
And yes, I do enjoy the events they put on at their location.

if a person values their time enough that they can take the bike to the dealership for service, why is that foolish? i wish i had enough money to be able to do that. more power to them.
