What a beautiful bike - I don't blame you. There's something to be said about the older bike aesthetics that you don't see in the newer bikes.

I am on a computer, and I have sigs turned off. Slows things down. Plus we all have bikes, so who cares.

As far as best running bike, it has 3500 mile on it. What went wrong with other bikes in that time?

With riding so little, an old bike might be good for you. Since not riding much. But if you don't ride much, do think you are going to ride a bike that is not as comfortable?

But, if you can afford it, why not find out?

2005 is an older bike to you? While there have been technical changes. I just don't see that much different.

If you want an older bike, IMO you have to go at least as old a Shovel. Other than that, not all that much difference in looks.

You’re the reason behind this, you know. That is such a gorgeous bike!

No, you're not nuts. I understand perfectly.
Why everyone thinks they need a touring platform to go to dunkin donuts always puzzled me.

I unerstand that the bikes are set up different. But 2005 is not an old school bike, and not all that much different look wise. They made lots of models in 2005 and 2015. Like I said IMO if you want something older, you have to go atleast 70s. Not saying they havn't mechanically changed or features in last 30 years. But they are not that different look wise.

Maybe softial people who want the vibrations or XL who want ridgid mount from the 90s.

There are several good points that have been brought up. In searching the Bay and Cycle Trader, I only found a couple of bikes that caught my eye. They would need additional work, and I would likely have more invested in them than what I could sell my RK for. I’m not an accomplished mechanic, so there’s that.

i think the sensible thing for me to do is take my existing bike and make it look more vintage. I’ve found some pieces, but have yet to find a vintage looking air cleaner cover that works with the Stage 1 air filter on my 103.

I’ll take a chance on your bike. Let’s swap.
