So what do you think about the fake left side gas cap on some if the models ?
Is it a necessary thing to balance out the look of the gasket tank ?
Or Could you do without it , and be just as happy with one . |
It's the gas gauge.

A throwback to when it was two tanks and even farther back when one was the oil bag....

Don't like the execution of the gas gauge/fake gas cap on the 2006 Fat Boy I have. It simply "jams" in the access hole, more-or-less held in place by a shaped gasket. Cheezy design for ease of assembly, I suppose.

It solves the problem of where to place the cap when refueling.

I run flush gas caps and the second one is the fuel gauge. I much prefer the cleaner look.

I swapped out both caps with aftermarket, the left houses the gas and charging system gauges, the right is a matched cap. And this is the official spot for the cap while filling. :)

Harley took away the dual disc on my Fxlr. Don't give them any ideas about taking away the dual fuel caps. Even if 1 is fake
