There are 2 free charging stations in the parking lot of our office complex. Free if you are a tenant. For $30K I'd go with a Ford Fusion Energi or something similar. At least I could use it during the winter.
I wonder if the Live Wire works as well as this electric motorcross bike? They even ran it into a pool filled with water.

With gas powered vehicles interiors being sound proofed better and better and the operators wearing earbuds, whose going to hear an electric motorcycle passing the gas powered vehicle. Sight impaired people are stepping off curbs because they can't hear the EV's. I wish the Livewire owners good luck.

This is a true story that happened to me back in the day.
I had just bought a brand new 1990 FXSTC, and was gassing up at the pump, when some 20 something pulled in alongside me on a jap sportbike. he kept revving the unimpressice sounding sewing machine of a motor, then finally asked if I want to race. I told him "sure; I'll race you for any amount of money you like, but I call the conditions of the race". He said "Name it"!
I told him "OK; we ride our bikes over to Camoflage (local rock club & hangout at the time) Park, and race to see who picks up a hottie first with their bike"!
He took off without further comment; he clearly did NOT want a piece of that.

How about playing cards in a bicycle wheel?

Electric vehicles are next... Once the technology matures and infrastructure is in place the combustion engine will take a back seat. It will happen a lot faster than we think - it's happening right before our eyes. Very different transportation solutions 5 years from now...
Horse & buggy history all over again, albeit on a faster trajectory.

From where I'm sitting, I see no evidence that a mass market for electric vehicles is going to exist any time soon. They are, and will remain, play things for the rich, and religious symbols for the global warming True Believers.
As for the faster trajectory, it's exactly the opposite. General Motors introduced the first modern era electric car in 1996. Here we are 23 years later, and electric cars are still nothing but a tiny fraction of the overall market.
In contrast, the Model T Ford was introduced in 1908. 23 years later, the gasoline powered car had all but completely taken over the transportation system.

The first ride report I've seen on the Livewire...

It's long on commentary and short on substance, but I expect there will be lots more before it is over with.

What makes you think that?
