tank bra

Thinking about putting one on my 19 limited industrial grey black denim, flat colors. I'm wondering if the underlying soft material will rub a put on shine/sheen on the paint. Does anyone know or have experience from the saddlebag lid covers?

I wouldn't chance it.

Are your tanks sagging already ?

Had one on a Sportster a number of years ago. Yes, over time, dust and the like will get between your tank and the material and will wear a shine--or even scratches--into the tank. Not worth it in my opinion unless the bra will protect against something worse.

If you want to protect the paint on your tank, then look into 3M paint protection film. Essentially, you make a clear-bra for it.

Thanks for the replies , if I had known the flat colors were such a PITA I would have stayed with the norm.

Xpel paint protection film makes a film for matte finishes.

I'm sure you can find an installer locally. If not, you can order their kit and apply it yourself.
