Ehh, I have taken them off of some of my bikes. I'm not so sure that being seen from a side profile is a big deal. Its the idiots in front and behind me that I worry about.
They don't work. If that's what you are relying on, I'd say make sure your will is updated. They're very narrowly directional and by the time someone sees them its too late.
On my bike I've got running/turn signal lights that are way more visible, from the sides, from much wider angles, rendering the reflectors even more useless.
I would also challenge someone to post an example of anyone who has been pulled over for this. Literally thousands of Harley owners every year convert to chrome or custom forks (Hot Legs for example), and they don't put the reflectors back on. Go to any bike night, the majority of the bikes don't have these reflectors.
SOMETHING is better than NOTHING, and that will always be true. Plus its really not that serious to me to put in the work to remove them, not like I have custom fork legs. 🤷🏽♂️
Now when I do my engine/suspension work and powder coat all my chrome to black, then yeah
But those lights you have look pretty cool tho, might look into them.

VIN number is what it is and nothing will change that. You can't make a Pimto into a Mustang with body parts.
I get what youre saying, but thats a bad comparison Not even the same platform. A better one would have been Caprice Classic and Impala, thats usually what I compare it to. Same frame and most body parts with a different trim level & performance. My bike is literally a Road Glide now minus the title. 🤷🏽♂️

I get where you are coming from OP, but that would be like converting a V6 mustang into a cobra by swapping all the needed parts and expecting it to be worth cobra money. At the end of the day it's still a base mustang.
That being said most insurance companies will either cover you for accessories by default or by purchasing extra insurance coverage for said accessories, or, get with them on an agreed upon value to make sure you are covered in the event of accident or theft. We all know in the car world, clones are not worth what original higher trims go for, I would expect the same in the bike world.
one other thing to consider. if you bought something that was advertised as a 'x' but found out later it was a 'y' that was converted to 'x', wouldn't you be pissed? i mean, functionally, it would be an 'x', but it was not built by the factory. and even though you may have used 'mostly' factory parts, it was still done by you and not the factory. which, in a lot of people's minds, would be a drawback. no matter how good you are, you aren't 'factory' good.
My fat-*** bitch of an ex-girlfriend lost 50 .lbs.
She sure did look sweeter after the weight loss but she was still a bitch.
Had an ex girlfriend I was backing off from ask me if I had a problem with her p*ssy. No the fun bits are fine my problem is with the c**t that owns it..
