I am curious, I ride an M8 Deluxe, Use to be a sportster 883 Custom, (FLDE and XLC) Whenever I have a question I ask about a Deluxe or 883 Custom or Sporty, Why do some use the letter abbreviations? It is so much easier for me to picture a Heritage, deluxe, fatboy etc over FLTXFNFJGJD.
What you talkin bout Willis. The alphabet help a lot, especially when people are asking what will fit what.
My FLHTCUI, FXDL, and FXB don't care what they are called or any of their FLH, FLS, or FXD. I draw the line at FL STDs, that's just nasty.
True that I used facroty saddle bags of a wide glide on my Supe glide...dififierent rear fenders but i knew they would work, I had to get crafty with the rear turn signals though and how the wires run to them....
the thing is they are both FXD so I knew thet bagswould bolt up...as far as FLH it covers the whole touring line etc. Its easier in terms of the older line of bikes to remember XLH, FXD, FXS, FLH etc then every submodel of each line of bikes...
