Jeez, no signs on 75 for this dealership that I recall, but. Stopped in and they consolidated their locations, Marietta dealership?

Anywho, a ****-ton of bikes, if anyone is looking for one new or used, I am thinking you might get one hell of a deal. I was returning from NHRA in Gainsville.

Just saying…as I never seen what is regular sized dealership with so much inventory. They take an hour every day putting bikes outside and back inside according to the crew doing it. I got there about 1000, they open at 1100. Crazy to me to see all those bikes. Every flavor.

Maybe if they performed the recall work they will need beforehand, they could sell more of them.

You would think there would be deals. I've visited a few dealers, both at home and in my travels, who have tons of inventory. Most of them are still playing their games with no deals to be had. Just came back from Daytona. Destination Daytona had so many bikes and contract sales people who were making deals to get rid of all of the bikes they had. My buddy was trying to buy a used PanAm they had they agreed to his offer, which was great, then started playing games when it was time to sign the paperwork. He walked. They wasted hours of our time. Same at home, lots of inventory but no deals, especially now that the weather is getting nice.

Meanwhile, I just picked up a new BMW GSA to add to my Road Glide. Super easy, negotiated discounts, added tax and registration fees and that was it. Very simple, the way it should be. They also had a lot of inventory, but didn't play games. What's the deal with Harley dealers?

The dealers are slitting their own throats. Whatever. You reap what you sow. If they go, they go. F*ck 'em.

It'll give fodder for people to start more threads about "OMG... this dealer closed".

Harley definitely needs to change the way their dealers sell. They have the reputation of heartless con artists.
Any dealership that doesn't accept an offer of MSRP plus sales tax and license plates over the phone deserves to go out of business.
And if they try to add bs fees after the handshake they deserve a punch to the head.

The dealerships got put into a horrible situation by the MotorCorp itself. Forced them to build oversized, flashy showrooms with tons of insurance, utilities, upkeep, and staffing costs, then force them to buy bikes/models they didn't want or have a market for and force them to pay insurance on those as well.

Add to the equation that most of the dealerships have way too many floor staff employees with managers and such sitting doing nothing most of the day. All that overhead adds up to large figures each and every month.

I'm honestly shocked that more locations haven't thrown in the towel. They have to squeeze each and every sale for all it's worth just to stay afloat.

The Dealer here is choking on inventory! We have 2 Independent Dealers with Deals! 469 Cycleshop has about 300 used Harleys with 30+ Trikes. Burkes Repo Outlet has New Inventory all the time, here's an example;

Actually purchased my first Harley there and my last as well. They do appeal to a mostly different type of buyer than some of the more local to the city dealers. They are not bad for a Harley dealership but that is a low bar given the **** show metro Atlanta dealers are. Still the same BS over "prep" and document fees - like $1500 prep on 24 touring model - Atlanta Harley Davidson wanted about $1300 for a Softail prep and their doc fee it $699 but I forget Southern Devil but its just as ridiculous. The Southern Devil service department is top notch. FWIW my local BMW dealership is $250 doc fees and whatever the actual charge for the state for tags is. They also like every seller of European and Japanese bikes have prices on the web in the BMW dealer's case on everything in store.

People love to say, wow you have lots of dealers you must be able to get good deals, no it just means they all are just shitty overall and will rip you off the same knowing the other dealers are into that as well. One dealer even stated a prep fee on a CPO. I just decided I am not looking this year and will wait till near summer's end
