Wife and I just returned from Nashville,In a few hours ago. Left Saturday around 7am arrived arounf noon on Saturday. Stayed at the Confort Inn (Nice if you go to Nashville In. make reservations VERY early!) any way went into town and looked around (Haven't been to Nashville, In 40 years except for passing thru last year, It has changed!) Noticed several bike heading up to Bean Blossom. Stopped into the local tourist info center and saw that Bean Blossom was having a bike fest so headed ther later in the afternoon. ANYWAY.....As I was sitting outside while the wife was shopping I kept hearing bikers "cracking their Throttles" so I began counting the bikes and the Throttle Crackers.. Out of 60 bikes (some Harleys, C-Rockets,others) 29 (as far as I could tell by listening and watching) were Cracking their Throttles out of the 60 I counted! I also watched the "Local" people around and tried to see if I could tell their reactions. Well out off the 29 bikes I noticed 14 people who were either visually or verbally!
So I guess this will be the next Town that implements a NOISE ordinance! (Several towns have them agains trucks using jake brakes now as well)
There were several bikes that went by that appeared to be idling and I saw no displeasure from the locals as these bikes passed.
So ya I know the people who "don't want the govment telling me what to do" but if we keep this shat up we are all going to have to deal with it! (and Yes Mine are loud but I don't Crack'em in towns for thsi reason.
Will post pics monday night in the Road trip section.........................Ride safe...........
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. I love my python pipes, and plan on keepin my Harley till I am too old to hold it up!But if I ever have to go back to stock pipes I think I will be ridin a BMW R1200 RT.
I only do it at stop lights so people can hear me. And to annoy cell phone users....but that's just for fun.
OH, I have to confess...I do it when passing another cage who has sped up on me trying to keep me from passing as it scares the shat out of them !..........
MyRide7, set down here for a moment son and let's talk about what is really bothering you. Sounds like this trip to Nashville, IN has some underlying issues. Have you been having a bad week or something?LOL
No I had a wonderful week and weekend as well.............See my other post on "would you be pizzed...."
This is just pissing me off the waving all the friging time (by Local/weekend riders??) as I do not notice this as much while (touring/trips) except by locals/weekenders.
AND this crap about Helmet and waving threads here sucks as well .....people has beat these two issues to death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rant over..................feel better...........got ice and a refill.......................................
