The leaves have turned east of Cherokee. If you are in for a great ride take the parkway north toward Mt. Mitchell and beyond. It takes about 1 hour from Asheville. I was up there on 10/14 and it was awesome. Cherokee should start turning over the next 1 - 2 weeks.

Chris;

In 13 years you won't be able to retire in Maggie Valley
unless your a multi millionaire. I've whatched prices go
thru the roof in the last 10 years and I could not even
imagine what it will be in 13 more years. [&o]

Maggie Valley will be a full sized city one day at the rate
Florida and North East people are moving in there! [:'(][&o]

I know, I know. All us da*n Floridians are ruinin' the state! I'm sure I'll have my place built before I retire. I've already got the land (on Plot Balsam Mountain), I just need the house on it now.

Need someone to keep an eye on it till you retire? I'm in easy riding distance! Was all acros sthe BRP and the Dragon and the Cherohala and the Foothills Parkway and 411, and 25 and 209 and 63 above Asheville this week end, Cades Cove area too, stayed in Pigeon Forge. Leaves are beautiful, but I do not believe they have peaked.
