Hm...makes me not want to buy an HD....any body talk to the dealer? Hopefully this is an isolated issue...I'm going to be bike shoppingin the near future....(especially once I sell me my one dedicated streetbike, then all I will have a is a dual sport with knobbies)..and I'd hate to have a reason not consider an otherwise good manufactuerer...

Dude, they have been making Harleys for 105 years and yes they will start and run in the cold. Both of our bikes have been modded and both are using a controller not manufactured by Harley. There might be a common problem with the controller. If your looking for a reason not to buy HD I expect you'll find one. Keep lookin.

MY damn choke lever kept going back in by itself. It was 32 degrees and after I used a hollow pen I cut just right to keep the choke from going back in, my King started right up. I won't asume that that is your problem cause it sounds kinda like a rookie mistake, but hey, if it will help you, so be it. If you already knew that and that is definetley not your problem, well nothing was lost cause I'm just sitting here bored drinking my wine and killing time reading these very entertaining threads. Almost as good as being on my PIG. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOtttttttttttttttttttt... ......... Yeah I know what you're thinking. WINE? It's too damn cold for beer, and I'm not a whisky feller.............

06 Dyna, sits for weeks at a time in the winter, no battery tender (20-30 degrees). Turns right over and starts everytime.

98 Heritage, been sitting out for several weeks, no tender, no gas additive, yesterday-27 degrees out- start fine. In the past when it has been a little hard to start, new plugs seem to fix it. One pump, let it sit a few seconds for gas to vaporize some, full choke: starts with no problem. Ifyours is injected, should start instantly (mine has to turn over a few times). Maybe you need plugs.

48F today, freshly charged battery, and my bike fired immediately. I am going to give it a test start the next cold 30F afternoon to see what happens.
