Default ACC Helmet - D Ring or Quick Release

I've ordered an ACCDOT helmet with a visor and quick release clip which should be arriving in a week or so. I find in numerous posts that some of youdid not like the quick release clip and were returning the helmet for the D-ring option. Although I've had the quick release clips on all of my previous helmets, I now find myself second guessing thequick release that I ordered. Can any of you elaborate why you didn't like the quick release option?

It's the prongs on the quick release they use. Instead of a clip like a belt buckle they use two prongs to clip in. Since you cant see the clip when your putting the helmet on sometimes only one prong seats right and the other wedges outside of the clip and then it's a totall pain in the A@@ to get back off. Second you have to squeeze the sides of the clip to get it to release and it just didnt work well for me. On a side note with winter approaching make sure your quick release is buckled and your neck gaitor isnt caught in it. Not that you know... it wont work loose and fly off your head when your on the freeway going oh say about 75mph. On the other hand ACC will give you a good discount on the next helmet

I like the quick release but it's sometimes a little difficult to snap together when you can't see it or feel it to get it lined up right...but no real problem..I don't like D rings because they're harder for me to losen when I want to pop my lid off...but maybe I'm just a spaz

I have both and prefer the quick release. I find it easier.

What we think should not matter. What do you prefer?

Quick release is the way to go IMO. It takes a bit of practice at first to get the feel of it. I hate D-rings now.

My helmet arrived 2 weeks ago and it came with both options. The quick connects can be added if you so chose. By default they were not attached they came is a small zip-lock bag with instruction to attach

Does any one have the old style metal part of the quick release with the NON-SLIDING bar in it (one piece part) that they want to get rid of or sell?
