I wear mine down to about 40 degrees. I like the protection, that extra layer of skin you know. Below 40 I usually have my FXRG suit on. Works better all over.

I wear chaps when it is cool enough that I don't roast. I came up with an idea and lined my chaps for even colder winter riding.

Works great now that winter has set in and there is snow in the hills.

I wear mine went the temp gets below 60 degrees or so. They are just too hot in the summer time for me, but they are great on those cool/cold days. With chaps, heavy jacket, gloves, and full face helmet I will ride until the temp drops into the mid 30's and I stay pretty comfortable. They definately extend the riding season for me.

I don't have a problem with people that wear chaps, but I don't like them. Just don't like the way they feel.
But, I found an alternative that even a homophobe could live with. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
They are called Leg Leathers. They make your boots look like they come up to your knees. Very comfortable and easy on and off. When the colder weather starts, I keep them in my saddle bag until needed (below 50 usually).
