Default Are the 1450 Evos any good?

I am looking to buy a Harley Softail. Any opinions on which motor is better, the 1340 or 1450?
Also, pretty much most of them I'm finding have oil leaks-is that common?
Thanks.

Do not buy a Harley. I repeat. Do not buy a Harley. I can tell by your post that you will not fit. Do not buy a Harley. [8D]

They're freakin amazing. Oddly enough a well tuned 1450 evo will run circles around the 1580 and the 1800 flatheads due to the lower crank sidevalves on the flattie with a spleen vent. If you get the 1450 evo, you'll want to check lower wankel bearings, that's what's causing the leaks. A good mixture of JB Weld and Colgate should seal those right up, but not if the flanges are warped. You'll want to make sure that you get the 8-valve transversely mounted L-model with the ladder frame and the intercooled primary along with the 6 in 4 tranny and the jockey clutch with a suicide shifter. They're fckin rockets man.

I keep telling the wife I need my lower wankel bearings checked and she just laughs and walks away.

Is the 1450 evo motor faster then my TC88? Maybe I should upgrade?
