The answer to this question is probably in the forum already so please forgive my laziness..

In the area where I live, car dealers will tell you that 15k per year is average mileage for cars..

Just wondering what the average for bike's would be?

Most people--the vast majority, I'd say--don't ride their bikes as much as they drive, so it's kind of hard to say.

I ride every day, so I've put 9500 miles on my bike since July. Lot's of time, though, people will only put 5000-6000 miles per year on their bikes.

 

There's really no answer to that question. If you live somewhere you can ride year round and your bike's your main mode of transportation, then 10-15,000 isn't out of the question, maybe more with some long trips thrown in. If you just ride to the corner Starbucks on Saturdays when the temperature is between 65 and 80 and it's not raining, you'll be lucky to put 1000 a year on your scooter!

 

Lots of people put less than 1000 miles per year on their Harleys. They are garage trophys for a lot of people.

Mine, I did close to 14 the first year, about 7 the second due to family/home obligations, and hardly any this year so far.
I do ride nearly every day, but it is 10-20 miles if I'm lucky.
Hopefully this will be a better year and I can do some travelling.

So my 07 wideglide with 4k on it would definitely be considered a low mleage bike then , huh?

It is hard to say. I have noticed most of the bikes for sale are almost never ridden, say 1,000 miles per year. But that may be the reason they are forsale. I think 5-10K miles per year is fair. I think the touring bikes may be a little higher per year.

 

I ride about 5K miles on my Harley annually.

 

Based on what seems to be for sale, you are about 3.5k over on your mileage.
