Mowing Mom's yard.

Mom lives about an hour away. For the past 4 years, I and my wife have been going down at least once a week to take her to do her errands. I have been mowing her yard for the past 3 years ever since Dad died. It was starting to become a pain in the pocketbook. After reading clap's post "It really hurts", about his mother passing away, well my attitude has changed. Went down today, took her on her errands (the only time she gets out of the house the whole week) and mowed her yard. Not that big apain anymore.

Been nineteen years now and I wish I could mow my Mothers yard for her. I do still mow it every now and then when my Father is out of town and the grass is growing but Momma's not there to enjoy it.

Same kind of boat, only my mom isn't that far away. Only about 30 minutes. Dad passed away 2 years ago. I'm dreading it when Mom goes. But her yard will look good.

Mine on the other hand................................ [&:]

Do what you can while you can. I know I have a lot of regrets and there are a lot of things I would have done differently had I known "then" what I know now. 36 years and the only thing I really have learned is that you should love the people you love with all that you have and don't ever give up a chance to make them smile. In the end the only way to make yourself happy is to first make someone else happy.

You won't ever regret helping your Mom. I did the same for five years after my Dad passed away. Yes, it sometimes becomes a pain, but stick with it, she appreciates it. My Mom passed away a little over two years ago. I miss them both very much, but I don't regretthe time I spent to help her for all they both did for me. I wish I was still mowing that yard.
