The appearance of a shield and bags is a subjective call at best. On the other hand, Harleys are classic styled bikes. Some models just don't look right without the elements that make them period correct. \\;For example, despite their many advantages, I don't like the appearance of cast wheels on baggers.
my opinion i dont care for windshields. to me the whole point of a bike is to be in the wind. i see bikes with windshields,radios,hand warmers,clocks,cruise. if i wanted that id drive a car. just my opinion.[sm=ummmmokay.gif] \\;to each there own.
Cause it blocks the wind from cooling ya down?! \\; Duh...just kidding you. \\; Really, I have a RK and ride both ways. \\; It's one of the reasons that I picked the RK casue I can just rip it off and hit the road. \\; The only time I really want it is in the rain or when the outside temp drops below 50degrees. \\; Then I really want the protection. \\; Shoot, with the windscreen, I have ridin when the temp was 21degrees without any concern. \\; Loved it!
Most of you have your heads screwed on right.Windshield or no windshield it's all up to the biker whose pride and joy that satisfies their daily needs.Personally have never felt the need to criticize anyones ride no matter what it is sporting.
Screw it, let's ride. That's why I have no windshield. Screw that \\;petty *** crap. Growing up my life was hell. I seriously believed God just hated me and was intent on making me as miserably as possible and I said screw Him. Only one person can make me miserable and that's me. I refuse to do so. It's 50 degrees, it's been raining all day, my leathers are soaked through and I can barely see the road, biking at it's best. I didn't make it this far by letting such petty *** crap ruin my fun.
 \\;
I don't care what you do. When I climb on the bike it isn't about you, it's about me and the world. I don't have to be comfortable to enjoy what I'm doing. It gives me satisfaction to enjoy it despite all the excuses I could find to be miserable. It is about perserveriance and endurance. It gives me a sense of satisfaction. Not because I'm setting on the bike saying this is miserable, but because I'm having fun.
 \\;
As I've gotten older I've decide it isn't God trying to screw me over, but, rather, He taught me a valuable lesson. He taught me what was actually important in this world. It's life and enjoying that life no matter what comes your way. I've ridden 5k miles in the last three months. I've ridden through snow, rain and on beautiful sunny days. I enjoyed it all. That includes the times I worried whether I could stop in the snow if I had to. It includes putting down the road at 40 mph with the hazards on in the pouring rain getting over to let car pass. That's because I faced it and I overcame it. That gives me a sense of satisfaction. Whimping out putting a windshield on the bike, buying rain gear, heated grips and linings are a disappointment to me.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
Just got back from Laconia, 1400 miles up to Quebec and back to Baltimore, the windshield really helps. I have always used a low profile that comes to about my chin, I can't get used to looking through a shiel when I ride so I see why 1/2 the people do not have them.
I have already recieved crap about putting one on a Cross Bones but it's mostly just a preference on looks.
