Riding down the street I start hearing police sirens.
As soon as I spot the LEO vehicle I see a truck in front of it coming towards me in my lane. Thankfully the truck swerves back into its correct lane before panic sets in.
As the truck passes by me I notice 2 things.
#1 - The truck is spitting out rubber from its driver side front tire. Yeah, the dude is doing every bit of 80 mph on a blown front tire. Might have even been both but I could not see it.
#2 - The dude is chugging on a 5th of Jack and looks completely care free as he is being pursued.
A few seconds later I see about 5 more LEO vehicles come into view and they are flying.
I turned the bike around just to see if there was carnage at the end of this chase. Turns out they cornered him in a neighborhood and that was the end of it.
This was the first drunk high speed chase I've had come at me. lol
Last Tuesday late afternoon was heading home on I-89 north and just on exit 19 saw a bagger laying on its side in the middle of the exit ramp. Couple cops standing around and a couple cop cars but no one who looked like a victim. Seemed like a strange place to have a motorcycle accident. I wondered why no one was picking up the motorcycle?
Found out today that the motorcycle rider took the exit a little fast and appears to have hit the curbing and had flipped his full dress bagger end over end and he expired. People know your suppose to exit slower then highway speed. Wonder if it was anyone I knew. Haven't seen the paper yet. I am curious exactly what happened. Sympathies and condlences to the family. I understand through here say (people who were at the scene right when it happened)the rider was in his 50's.
Goes to show when riding one needs to be 100% focused or the little things will bite you in the ***.
