First time out in the country on two and four lane highways today at and maybe a little over 65 MPH, WOW what a rush. The little bugs at those speeds sting alot more when they hit you in the face. I even got caught in a little drizzle at 65MPH and that didn't feel to good either just wearing a t-shirt. The bottom line is that I dig it and I want more. To bad I can't ride on the interstate with temps, come on October 16th for my MSF class.
I had a Cicada attach to my ear while riding at 55. Drowned out the bike and wind. Guess it was looking for a schoot as well. The ones on the bike were a good color. Cicada Yellow should be a standard HD color provided it has the red eye dots.
I hit a bird at 75mph the bird hit my handlebar, then flopped up and hit me in the
right shoulder knocking my hand of the throttle and making me lean backward
at an odd angle.
dont know what kind of bird it was because it was dark (5:30 A.M.)
left some tail feathers in my brke lever and a really sore spot on my shoulder
I think highways are a lot safer then city or country roads. There is nobody turning in front of you and no one coming straight at you one lane over. Bugs is bugs, good source of protein. Wait'll you start getting your bike up to 90 and 95, bugs get like bullets then.
