Sampson Big Gun 3's with stock air cleaner?
I've been running Sampson Big Gun 3's with a HD stock air cleaner. Did not remap as well but has been running fine for over 3000-4000 miles. I've asked some local HD shops about a high flow air cleaner, then they say I at least must remap which I understand.
They always recommend a new high dollar fuel pack over the remapping as well. HD shops say I could be doing damage to my engine running my pipes with the stock setup. It seems to run fine. By the way, my bike is an 07 1200 sporster. Can somebody clear this up. Thanks |
I'm not familiar with the Sampsons but generally you have to do something to richen the mixture if you change the whole exhaust (headpipes and all). If they are just slip-ons, you're good to go. To be sure, do a plug reading. If they are chalky white, you need some sort of fuel management (or at least IEDs).
