Default 2005 Factory Alarm

My 2005 FXDWG came with one, it works but it doesn't chirp. I don't have a 2005 manual yet. I looked in my 2000 softail manual but it doesn't have any info on it. I tried google and using the search function on the forum but came up with nothing.

Do the 2005 alarms chirp?

..or is their a sequence using the turn signals to turn it off or on?

Are you sure it has a Smart Siren attached? You may just have the security system that flashes the lights and kills the ignition.....

Maybe next to the fuse panel?

Maybe someone with your model bike will speak up......

I have a new bike with security and the siren is an added extra. Saw a picture of install somewhere and it mounts next to the fuse panel.

Default Alarm

I have an 06 Fatboy SE with the alarm. I also do not have the manual. Mine will chirp. However it is easy to set but very difficult to disable so you can ride. Any pattern to this?

The '05 models do not chirp cor come with a siren. When the alarm is activated the lights will flash. If the bike is moved or otherwise and the alarm trips the lights will beging flashing and the electrical system is shutdown for a couple of minutes, then resets itself.

If you bought used you will need to take it a dealer to reset the turn signal codes.

And do a search here. There is a thread concerning a Radio Shack alarm. Supposed to be a lot less expensive yet louder than HD (?)..

I have a 2005 SE Fat Boy, with the alarm and siren. No trouble at all with mine. I hold the key fob button down and in 2 seconds or faster it chirps. When I disable the alarm I press the button twice fast and it is just as fast to chirp and deactivate. I aim my fob at the right front turn signal (no logical reason why I do that) press the button twice, right before I unlock the forks.
What problem do you have disabling the alarm?

But, is it even wired for an siren? I would check with the dealer and if it is I would then add the Radio Shack siren, $5
