The customer reviews make this jack look pretty crappy.

Do a search on this forum for "Craftsman Jack" or "Craftsman Lift". I was headed to get one until I read the reviews. Sounds like it'll be $89 spent on figuring out you need a better jack.

I'm a fan of J&S jacks. They are a high quality American made jack with a good reputation for service. They run about $350. They are rock solid and I never have any worries that my bike is going to fall off.

The Sears made in China yellow jack is also quite popular by users here and of course priced much lower. It will work for you as will most of the similar models at Harbor Freight or Pep Boys. Depends on how much you're willing to spend and what sort of quality you want. The J&S doesn't require straps and doesn't rock at all. You can actually climb up on the bike.

I have one and have had no problems with it. I can't complain though mine only cost $25 from a buddy who had an extra one.

I'm all for buying well made products and don't mind spending more to get them.

But I have to laugh about having a jack where I can climb up on my bike while it's up on the jack. Why would I want to do that?

I can do that with my POS Sears jack if I want to, as long as I don't go into the "rocking horse" mode.

I've used the POS jack now for about 4 years and it has never (knock on wood) let me or my bike down yet....

I'm happy for you but why are you calling your jack a POS?

I've had the Sears (RED) jack for about five years and it works very well. But I did read the instructions that came with it and they said something about bleeding the air out of it and topping off the fluid before useing it for the first time. I followed their instructions and that could be why mine had always worked. Maybe those with bad results neglected to read the owners manual and follow those easy steps before using their jacks and having them malfunction?

I also have the Sears jack.
I think its kinda funny the other guys use a video of sitting & rocking on it. Not something I need to do.

For the price its perfect for the basic maintanance I do myself.
