In Oregon I have two, 2 1/2 car garages, neither are heated. It gets down into the teens sometimes but I've never had a problem. I just have the bike covered with a blanket to keep dust off it. I will usually start it up for once a month if I havne't been able to ride it.
It doesn't normally snow where I live, I mean it does a few days a year, but it's not like we have snow continually on the ground for months at a time. Oregon riders are tough (I'm from CA) and they will ride all year as long as it's not snowing. I just talked to a buddy up there (I'm in Vegas right now) and a small group did the Rudolph Run last week. It was in the 20's. Way too frickin cold for me.
I bought my new bike last Sunday and had to keep it in the garage here in Vegas. If you seen the news, you know we had a huge snow storm two days after I bought the bike. I couldn't take it anymore. This last Saturday I had to take it out for a ride. It was only 41 outside but went for an hour and a half ride. It was great.... but cold!
You should never store a Harley - you should ride it. If you absolutely cannot ride, then the proper way to store it is in pieces. Disassemble the bike. Paint the tins. Toss non-chrome items into your pile of take-offs, and replace them with chrome. Do the same with performance parts. Tweak your suspension. Try some different wheels. You should do this until you get to the point where you say "Damn! It's supposed to be 40 tomorrow. I'd better get the bike back together!"
Mine stays in a carport out of the weather. The temps change here a lot. Yesterday it was in the 30's all day. Tomorrow it will be in the 70's. It gets a good bit of condensation, but at least its out of the weather. I wonder if that plastic/plywood trick would keep the condensation off the bike?
I keep mine inside the addition to our mobile home. Pretty short riding season in central BC Canada. It is -30 this morning. May is when I start and Oct is when I park it inside. I don't have a bat. tender so I guess my battery will be dead. This is my first harley ever bought in o8 and I could not park it outside, it just went against my grain.
Arizona, I seen a bubble you were talking about and it looks like it works well. I think it has a little fan inside to keep it pressurized meaning no dust if the fan is filtered.
Mine sits in my basement rec room about 5' from my bar/keg-o-rator, so I can work/clean/sit on it whenever I feel like it. I also give it the occasional glance while sitting on my couch watching TV.

Buy a battery tender and plug her in. Battery tenders are only $25 - $30.
