Sportster Norton or Triumph
 

Theres another big name comming back to the Market in Norton and the comando is a bike to watch.

Had a Norton back in the 70s. I never got used to the right side shift and left brake.

I couldn't make a decision without know which models you are referring to. Triumph has a pretty big line-up and the Sportsters come in many variations. I like the old Nortons, but have yet to see the new ones in person, but they look cool in the pictures.

??? I thought the return of NORTON was put on hold last year? I must be out of touch.... I haven't seen any news.

As with the return of any "heritage" nameplate.... it's just a way to get quick instant recognition. Triumph did a great job, as did the Mini..... will Indian?

Last picture I saw of the "new" Norton, I didn't see a family resemblance. I wish them well...

I'm with Scoot. I thought that Norton was put on hold and they were in Chapter 11. Is there something going on with them now? Haven't seen anything.... That blacked out Triumph Bonneville is pretty cool for a second bike. I'd love to pick one up. I keep watching FleaBay for a steal, and I saw one that I absolutely loved. Apparently I wasn't the only one. It went for over $7K. I'm sure it was probably worth it. Like new, very low mileage, and totally blacked out. Everything, including bars wheels, exhaust, etc....

Yeah, those new Triumph Bonnevilles are cool. Would love to have one.

The picks of the Norton are neat, but the ones I saw had a forward riding position. Not for me.

I rode the real Triumphs for 30 years. Bought a new one when they first came out. Id say it was way better than the old ones.

Now that I have a Sporty, I can never go back.

I stand corrected.... Yes, the American attempt at bringing back the Norton nameplate failed.... but these crazy Brits bought the rights and are doing a retro- bike ala the Triumph

mean nasty, and will probably kick butt on the street.... My aching frail body couldn't stand the riding position, but then Norton was never an "old man's bike"

The Triumph is made in India, last I heard.

Some guy's bought a shed load of Norton bits and is planning on re-launching the famous name.....yet again. I hope he succeeds,there's been photo's in the bike press and even a piece on national TV but...
The Motorcycle News had several pictures of the "new" Indians this week,another re-launch?
BTW, has anyone ever put a Harley-Davidson motor into a Norton frame?
Surely we owe it to the world to build a Norty-Davidson.
