How do you remove your existing console insert?

How do you remove your existing console insert?

Looking at one of these http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
but wondering how much hassle it is to remove the existing one?

The one on my SG is ribbed so another one can't be put down without the existing one being removed first.

I'm guessing the old blow dryer trick might work but has anyone reading this ever actually removed one?

Removed one on my 04 EGC, just picked at a corner until I could get under it, then pulled it off.

It's just stuck on there - hair dryer and razor blade will take it off.

Wait... do you own a hair dryer?

This is clean & simple mod.....just warm it up a bit with a blow dryer to soften the adhesive. Its very thin aluminum that bends and will come off purdy EZ.

Be sure and remove any left over residue before applyin the new insert. U only get one chance with the new and it better be str8!
