Maui and Harley
Just got back from Maui and I've got to put in a good word for the Aloha Toy Store. Last Sunday evening my son-in-law and I rented bikes- I got a new 2007 Ultra and son-in-law got a RK Classic. Both bikes were clean and well maintained. It rained all day Monday and we couldn't ride until the late afternoon. The Toy Store felt bad about it and said to keep the bikes an extra day, no charge. I thought we were treated real well and I would recommend the Aloha Toy Store when you get to Maui.
We weren't able to ride to Hana because the earthquake on Sunday knocked out a bridge and put some debris on the road. Instead we rode from our condo in Kaanapali south to the end of the road at Makena then back up in to Kahalui for eats and then counter-clockwise around Maui's north end. Lots of tight turns, steep ups and downs, and slow stretches of very narrow road. I was two-up and the Ulltra had tons of power. I liked the new 6-speed trans - actually got it into 6th once! The scenery was tops. Great day, great ride.
PS, gas on Maui is still about $3.30; $2.85 on Oahu.

The road to Hana would be a great ride on a bike but man it would wear you out. That is one curvy road. It was such a let down once we got there. THERE IS NOTHING THERE.......at all.
Did you ride to Mt. Haleakala? That would have been a great one. The veiws were AWESOME.

Sounds like you had a great time. I've been to Maui three times and always rent a Harley from 'Island Riders' in Lahaina. I've been lucky enough to circle the entire Island on 2 wheels and it's an awesome ride. No matter where you rent from, just rent one if you ever go there and enjoy riding in paradise.

RE: Maui and Harley
I went to Maui last year and loved it. I had never been on Maui. My girl is going back in a week.
I wish I had the Opp. To rent a bike but did not. I did fly in a copter, tour the entire island etc.
I stayed at the Ritz Carlton...(wanna talk about a story behind breaking ground on that site)
These trees were CRAZY looking

I'm bumping this thread to say that I just learned that the Aloha Toy Store is no longer in business. Wife and I are going back to maui in June and when I called and spoke to the owner, Marty, he told me the bad news but recommended Eagleriders in Lahaina.
