Different Brand Tires on Front and Rear???
Is it OK to run different brand tires on the front and rear of my Harley (Electra Glide Classic)?
It's a long story which I'd rather not go into right now, but I'm very seriously thinking of putting a Dunlop on the rear of my bike. I presently have a nearly new Metzeler on the front of my bike.
Comments?

I'm running a Dunlop Elite 3 on the front and an Avon Venom X on the back. I have been running this setup about 2 years now and am on the 2nd set of tires. Bike handles great, and have had no problem with this setup.

Because the two new Metzelers I've had on the rear keep leaking air. The dealer replaced the first one with another one, and it leaked too. He also put a new wheel on the rear (thinking that might be the problem), but that didn't help either.
Since he still has my old (original) wheel at the shop, he mounted a new Dunlop on the wheel to see what would happen. BINGO! No leaks.
So, if the Dunlop is still leak free on my original wheel in another week, then I'm going to ask him to mount it on my bike and remove the Metzeler tire and new wheel that he put on a couple weeks ago.
