It is mostly comming from the pushrod side and it is very much like rocker noise but its hard to pinpoint. its just an all over rattly sound (sounds like a sewing machine LOL) and if I wasn't concerned about cam chain tensioners I probably would'nt worry.
Is your motor stock? To my knowledge the Twin-Cams in stock form do not have adjustable pushrods to adjust freeplay but I'm no expert on Twin-Cams...
If the clatter goes away after time it is not a cam chain issue...You may be alright so long as the clatter is not permanent!
My rpm dependent clatter turned out to be a loose breather bolt holding the air cleaner backing plate to the engine. Drove me nuts for 1000 miles before finding it was a simple fix. Worth a look.
If it only happens on cold startup, it might be oil pressure related. If you are using one of those ulta-high filtration oil filters, that could be the cause.
