marvel mystery oil? ever use it?

Never used it in bikes, but use it a lot for radio control nitro engines. Keeps them from seizing up when they sit for a while. Just put a couple of drops in after done running for the day....

It comes in a can with great propaganda written on it proclaiming mysterious miracles, has a pretty color, and smells good. Other than that, I'd also guess that while it works for somethings, it ain't the cure all some believe it is. For every user that pours it in gas and oil like medicine and has never had an engine/fuel system problem, I'd guess there are thousands that have never used it and also have never had engine/fuel system problems.

Worked at Advance auto for a while and a lot of old timers and mecanics would say to use it in the oil about 100 miles before you change the oil and it cleans the inside of the engine...It's thin like gasoline so it would make sense that it would clean the inside of the crank case....

Where do you still find it still in cans?
I haven't seen it in cans for a long time, and it now comes in plastic containers.

I’ve always used it because the people I grew up with always used it. Without much knowledge or experience with newer bikes, I can’t say if there’s a need for MMO or not. I do know that old iron does like it. I add it to every tank when on the road and every third fill when in town. It really helps out the engines top-end. It’s not an octane booster and will not burn so this is one product were more is not better when it goes in the gas.

Have used it in my Cummins diesel engines for years. Todays diesel is way low on sulfur and MMO provides some lubrication for the injectors as well as other engine parts.
Never tried it in Harley but may.

BadBob, "Oh Ye of little faith" Bwahahaha
My Dad used it on our farm. I've been using it since I was a kid. I use MMO in the 'earl', cause I use Sea Foam in the gas.
Chit is AS GOOD AS Brylcreem "A Li'l Dab'll Do Ya"
In all honesty, given the quality and Fed standards for gas and detergent earl now days, combined with the 'modern' materials and machining of "machinery" (autos, etc), not sure it is as big of a deal, as it was back then. Sludge was an issue in the 50's and 60's, and previous(BUT I wasn't there, then ) to that.
