I don't have any credit history, I just got a credit card but haven't made any purchases with it yet. Is there any way a dealer will let me buy a bike? I'll go nuts if I don't get one soon.

Do you have a job that offers you access to a credit union? Good place to get 1st time credit... How old are you?

No credit can be just as bad as having bad credit. But where there is a will there is a way! You may have to look into alternative financing besides what Harley has to offer and you might have a higher interest rate but I'm sure it can be done. Good luck!

If you want crdit history, buy a house. Credit cards can mean big trouble and less buying power for your hard earned dollars. Try the credit union aprroach. They will give you a fair interest rate or better yet, save up and pay cash. Or your Dad may be doing you a favor just like my Dad did when I wanted to buy a 750 Triumph back in 1974. Glad I waited and saved enough to buy a Sportster.

If you don't know about credit unions, and you don't have credit, and you don't own your own house, and you make less then $35,000 a year, you might not be able to get a harley. Sorry......

So the only way to build credit is to own a house? What if I convince my dad to co sign for a cheaper model, would that help build credit or no?

Start saving your money, pay cash and avoid the payment plan thing all together.

No, that is not the only way.
Get a credit card, make a few small purchases now and then, pay off the bill.....credit builds.
