Default One piece rainsuit vs. two piece?

Me and teh GF have been talking about getting rain suits for a while now, and now that Laconia Mud Week is upon us again, we are thinking about it all over again.

I had someone tell me that a complete one piece jumpsuit was the best given that there is no seam in the waist to allow for water to get into. Seemed to make perfect sense to me, but are there perfectly good 2 peice outfits out there as well?

I want to do this once, and not break the bank if we can help it.

Ideas/thoughts?

Two piece is better IMO!!! You can take the jacket off and keep your legs dry till the roads dry up!!

One-piece suits will keep you dryer, but they a pain to put on and off. Also, when all you to wear want is the jacket, you're stuck with the entire suit.

2 piece works for me. Don't see how it's possible for water to get inside the pants with the jacket on. I have the HD Gore-Tex rain suit and love it.

I've had both, this isn't always the case. One piece suits typically have a long zipper (so you can get it on) The zippers are *supposed* to be water tight but I've seen some leak a little, usually at the crotch to waist area where it's folded up. It makes a pocket that holds water. With two piece suits you enter the pants from the top so there's no need for a zipper. The pants come up high, well above your waist. The top overlaps but water still lays in the same area at your crotch. Yet without the zipper there it doesn't leak.
As others have mentioned two piece suits are more versatile. The top can be worn by itself, as a rain parka, when you are off the bike. I prefer two piece.

I ride in rain exclusively with 2 piece rain suits. I ride in a lot of rain, both on and off road. No problem with rain seeping in between top and bottom.

Two Piece: Can wear either top or bottom separately.

For a female the two piece is a lot easier when nature comes a callin'.

Have both, only wear the 2 piece, much more versatile and convenient. The 1 piece was a huge PITA to get on and off, so started to ignore the black clouds looming on the horizon, you know how that goes.

Get a good quality 2 piece, no question about it.
