I bought my wife our first HD couple of weeks go. Color is the Purple Flake with Brilliant silver. I was told it was a limited edtion paint and only avaible for a short time.
My conern is what if it gets a ding or scratch 2-3yrs from now. Are they still able to fix it or replace say the tank with the same color?
I have a paint set that is limited to 75, and during my last vacation my son's bike fell against mine, causing damage to the tank. The dealership sent the tank back to HD who made the determination that the tank could be fixed, and didn't have to be replaced.
I got off the phone with the dealership just this afternoon who stated that the tank looks as good as new and you would never know there was any damage to it. I'll find out next month when I get home...
I have an '02 Screaming Eagle Road King. Small production run (<3,500). The factory has been able to replace the tanks and rear fender (don't ask). The paint was a perfect match.
Don't worry. You can get replacement factory painted parts and they'll be perfect. Hope you never need to find out.
