Default Help me price this 1989 Sportster/1200 (pic)

Hi there,
Still looking for a Harley. Being a new rider, I am thinking of starting with a smaller bike and I have been looking for a Sportster.

Can someone help me price this bike for me?
* It is a 1989 HD Sportster (Owner says that it runs like new).
* Its a 1200
* It has 19,987k miles
* The bike has all new charging system, new paint new tire, new chain
* It also comes with saddle bags and an extra seat that is soft for the long rides.

If everything looks as good as in the picture, how much should I offer for this bike?

Is there anything that I need to watch for buying this bike.

Really appreciate your help.

A 20 year old sporty with 20 k miles on it? I'd go for 2500-2750.

of course I'd have to see and ride it
I agree with the above:
I give 2500 for it, if it checks out OK, and I wanted it

If he wants more than $3,500, hes crazy. Remember, the bike is 20 years old and I've seen sportsters from late 90's-early 2000's priced at $4,000.

Not more than $2500. I'd go for less. You're going to be wrenching on it, you can count on that!

KBB gives a retail of $3265. That would be a good point to start at...hope this helps.
