Better mount for king tour pak?
 

The one on the 84 is thin chromed metal, has been welded once....and is cracking again. Did anyone develop a fix for this? I dont see replacing it with another identical one solving anything. I think it will do the same thing....

Most that have cracked the OE mounts have replaced with the detachable because it is sturdier. You could probably get one and adapt it to fit your 84.

There's guys on the Evo forum that have older FLH's. Swing on over there and see if someone has fixed a similar problem.
I had a similar problem with my luggage rack sideplate, but welding it has fixed it for ten years now.
