Default whats the difference

when looking at parts and acc. on sites like ebay, why do they say 97 or latter for flhp parts? i have a 96, wont they fit mine too?
what were the changes between 96 and 97?

I don't know what the differences are between the 96 and 97, but a lot of companies make minor changes so they can keep aftermarket parts to a minimum and make more money selling their original parts. Then when the aftermarket catches up, they make another minor change. It's all about the dollar.

The '97 FLH frames put the seat 1 inch lower than a '96. I had a '97 Ultra and it did set closer to the ground than the pre '97s --- ie. my '86 Classic and '91 Ultra. They felt a LOT closer to the ground!
