How about a cell phone? Can they ping it or see where he last used it?

 

This was my thoughts exactly. I would also start the search starting where his last credit card purchase was done and head the direction he would have been heading. Also, would the gas station where he used his card have a camera? Might find some clues to his whereabouts.

This is not a good sign...hope he turns up soon.

Update: 9/11/2009:
- A Credit Card purchase in Denver on Sept 8th was noted in Denver, CO - hopefully, he's okay - this is being confirmed. - update, this was some type of automated charge which was actually on the 1st. The search is still on.
-PDF poster added.
-Yellowstone NP has had several calls already and has no record of him showing up there.
