bike colors & myths
what is wrong with the color Green on a motorcycle. I was looking a newer bike and was sitting on it this guy comes up to me and said, you don't want to ever own a green bike because it is unlucky. Is that why there isn't many green bikes out there? What other myths are out there?[&:]

My bike is green. She has never let me down...not once. Actually, I think she saved my life from a major storm once (long story). Wouldn't trade her for the world! Unlucky, I think not!

It's really a myth, but in my case my worst bike is my Green/Oyster Henderson. Got the oil puke on the ride from the dealer, the tranny misses 3rd almost every time, the clutch (slave cylinder) failed before 300 miles, and the triple tree chrome flaked off while I was cleaning it (no pitting beforehand either). All of these were known problems w/the EHs (and repairs coming next year), but the red one has not had any of those, just a remap to make it run right.

I think it has to do with the military Harleys of yesteryear....
Green bike and getting shot at while riding on it is where the myth started from. There may be some stuff here on the forum if you check the search function.
Take care,
Dave

You know, green is a very unlucky race car color and it just somehow traveled over to scooters because they are so fast-there is no reason to think it is supersticious to ride a green motorcycle that is why I chose red.
