Default Ok I have narrowed it down to bridgestone or metzler.

I realy like the looks of the bridgestone spitfire s11.They are wider than the stock dunlops and metzler in the same 130/90/16 size.I just cant make up my mind between the metzler and the bridgestone.Has anyone ran or are running the bridgestone s11 spitfire?I know that a lot of people go with the metzler ME880,but a few have tald me they thought they were over priced for what they are.Motorcycle shows always try and sell you what they sell saying it is best,so I dont trust them that much.I will be putting them on a 87 Heritage.

I put a pair of Bridgestone S11s on my Dyna a few years back when I couldn't get Dunlops due to the strike. I mount my own tires and had the devil of a time getting the beads to seat. Didn't particularly care for their handling either.

Metzlers were worth the money for me. 8,000 miles and not much wear, and still great handling. Tar snakes don't exist anymore, either.
My $.02

11k miles on Metzlers now front and rear and no complaints. They are wearing very well, they do NOT lose air as some have reported and they handle far better than the stock Dunlaps. I will buy them again.

I have no experience with Bridgestone at all.

I am running my second bridgestone 180/55/18 back tire and for me it has performed as well as the metzeler for a lot less in cost. I seem to get the same amount of wear and milage out of either tire--so I opt for the tire which saves me some coin. Seems I have to get a rear tire every riding season and so far I'm liking the bridgestone just fine. I get about 6000 miles on the rear with twice that for the front. As said I did like both tires--just saving a little with the bridgestone.

Put Metzlers on the Sporty...worked so well I took nearly new Dunlops off and put Metzlers on the Deuce. No second thoughts on handling or wear. Dunlop has lost a customer. No information on Bridgestones at all. John
