Default Vance & Hines Slip-ons

I had V16725 slip-ons installed and they are not as loud as my screaming eagle slip-ons. has anyone ever removed the baffles and removed the packing. i have done this on my wife's and son's rush slip ons, was just wondering if anybody has done this to V & H slip ons

The stock baffles have no packing, they are pretty much just flow through tubes with louvers that disrupt the exhaust. Their quiet baffles, which are packed and are plugged at the end closest to the header, are actually a couple of decibels louder, but deeper.
I can only guess that removing them would get it louder and you could lose some bottom power. Maybe somebody here has done that.
The only experience I have with other baffles is the BCT's, and I love the sound. Went with the QQ's to get the sound deeper, and will also give you some back pressure for the low end.

Pulled the baffles out of my straightshot slip on's. I put them right back in after a short ride. It was loud but just sounded horrible.

I have 2 sets of baffles, standard and the quiet. I'm currently running the quiet baffles without the packing. Still have good low end and a slightly quieter sound.

Did U like the rush without the packing.. I repacked mine after 16k on them as they were getting too loud,,, rush sent me the material free overnite and in put it in, never started it without it on the baffles, but I would think they would be obnoxiously loud and don't have any idea about the tone..
As far as the V16725 pipes, what are they.? I would think U've been around long enough to know how to choose pipes..
The best thing I could say is call V&H's and talk to a tech and see what Ur options are..

I was not planning on leaving the baffles out, I plan on taking off the packing and putting the baffles back in, as far as the V16725 that is the part number of the pipes, I just wanted to know if anybody else had removed the packing. They are just the basic V & H slip ons.

You may be able to change the baffles with one of their other types. Give them a call, they have great phone support.
