Black Friday

The store around home are talking about having Major sales during the Holidays for boosting the sales..
If the dealers had a 30% or more sale that would be great.
I've have bought in early spring in the past when they had last years items on sale, sometimes find 75% off. Thats how I got my leather winter coat...

Greetings,
There's usually sales not just on Black Friday, but on certain days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I should be getting the post cards for them soon! I'm hoping for bigger discounts this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

My dealer does a mystery discount on black friday 10-50% off everything except bikes! You check out and after they give you your total, you reach into a box and grab a miniature candy bar. depending on the color of the wrapper = your discount. I hit the 50% off 2yrs. ago.

to those who were around in the mid 70's and the AMF bullshit....what did they do then when they were on the brink?

I went to pick up a couple of things at TMHD in Loveland CO, and they are having a Black (and Orange) Friday Sale. I'll be there at 7am when they open. They are only getting some of my money though. They aren't getting all of it, because a rival dealer about 20 minutes away (hint: In Greeley) opens at 6, and they are offering 30% off, but only on in-stock merch, and only for one hour. Then it goes to 25% for an hour and so on. I told myself as soon as someone had a sale like this, I'd get the detachable tour pack hw and some other goodies. Another dealer around here does a sale similar to this one right before new years. Anything i can't pick up on black friday I'll buy on that day from them.
If I owned a dealership, I'd be after that black friday money. If you don't have a sale, your customers will just go buy toys from someone who is, like best buy. I figure most people are like me, and have a certain amount of money to spend on stuff they don't really need. For me, it's not about how much I spend, it's about how much I SAVE, on black friday. If the HD dealers didn't have a sale, I would have "SAVED" my money elsewhere. Kudos to the dealers that are smart enough, and want my money badly enough, to have a sale once in a while. I don't even mind paying the tax on say a 20% off purchase, because I don't have to pay shipping, and my money stays local. I'd rather do that than order online, so the local gets my money.
