ABC's of getting your parts/gear cheap online
I'm not affiliated with any of these sites/stores. Just wanted to give the info to those who don't already know how to bargain hunt. After all, we're all cheap bastards. I do recognize that this takes business away from your local dealer. It's up to you. I buy plenty of other stuff from them so I don't feel bad about it.
Usually what I do first is see if it's in the Drag Specialties Fatbook (http://www.dragspecialties.com/fatbook). If you can get a fatbook #, then you can look it up at Chicago HD's website (www.chicagoharley.com) for 20% off, or check with Zanotti HD (https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/partLookUp.html , use the drop down and select Aftermarket). For some reason, Zanotti offers significant discounts over and beyond the 20% you'll find at most sites for random parts.
For example. .the STT module I needed for my '10 Wide Glide rear fender project to an '09 Fatbob to use the lights as running/brake/turn costs:
$114.00 Retail
$91.20 %20 Off
$75.00 Zanotti's (~35% off)
For my Rush slip on's, I had to do a little more work. I went to their site, found that I needed #28601 (from Rush's #'ing system). To do my stage I, I ordered all parts from http://www.powersportsuperstore.com. They sell my muffler, which is $314.95 Retail, for a sale price of $247.66 (~21% off). For some reason, I couldn't find Rush in the Fatbook. The Fuelpak and Big Sucker A/C were comparably priced to the other sites, as well. They also discount any item in the Biker's choice catalog (http://www.bikerschoice.com/). That means helmets, jackets, etc (They have Skid Lids listed for $23 last I checked, retail is $35ish).
Some people recommend Surdyke's HD too, but I never find anything cheaper than the above methods.
That's really all there is to it.

Also search part numbers on Google and eBay. For an example, I got a new Harley Davidson chrome front end kit on eBay, ($475.00 retail) for a buy it now at $99.00, and that also included shipping.
Save at least 20% on parts and accessories.

Don't forget M & M Cycles. They are a good Mom and Pop operation and can get parts from many sources for up to 20% off.

Id say 95% of everything I buy now a days is done on-line. And that includes everything from bike parts, clothes, coffee, fishing-camping gear, to even my dinner as I ordered pizza on-line last night. A lot of places offer free shipping by placing a order over a certain dollar amount. A good example would be you might have to order three pairs of pants instead of two to get the free shipping. And I also try to order from out of state to save on paying sales tax.

I shop online and aftermarket all the time. And I have a dealer and three indy shops within 3 miles of my house. The last time I went to one of the indy shops the owner charged me $17 for two 02 sensor plugs. I needed them right away. I found them online for $5 a pair. I will never go back to him. I guess because it was Sunday he figured he could rip me off.
