All Ohio riders, NEW-LATE TAG FEE BEWARE
Went down to the license bureau/DMV to renew the tags for one of my bikes there is a new $20 fee for late (over 7 days) plate renews. THE FEE DOES NOT APPLY TO BIKES or boat trailers. The women at the counter didn't even know this, she had to check. I had picked up tags last week for different bike, the was told about the exceptions. Who knows how many motorcyclist were charged a fee they didn't owe. (The tags I got today I had let expire, but wanted to take the bike out today- didn't pay a late fee!).

Do it on time then.

Here is VA, they now charge you extra for doing ANYTHING in person...glad I can do all my renewals over the internet.
|
Thanks for the info. I have 4 vehicles and I'm always late with the renewals. Guess I'll be on time this year!
|
so this doesn't apply to motorcycles or trailers?
Funny how the state hasn't mentioned that part to us  doesn't surprise me any |
I dont like to pay interest or late penalties,, so I pay in advance......or before due dates..

I was just reading on the hometown newspapers web site that that same $20.00 fee applies to an expired drivers liscense over 6 days too. (Ohio is money hungry) In South Carolina we get a tax statment in the mail when our plates are due. Here we have to pay a property tax on vehicles. (South Carolina is money hungry too) Then they send them in the mail. Drivers licenses are good for 10 years. Dont know if they will send a notice on that or not. Just changed mine over in '07

Just one thing to remember You can't fight ShittyHall!

Yeah, I just got hit with that $20. Was working out of state and the job took longer than planned. Nine days late = $20. Bastids.
